How your data is handled

This policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit this website or get in touch, in line with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the GDPR) and Act No. 110/2019 Coll. on personal data processing. The website is deliberately built to collect as little data as possible.

No Data Protection Officer is appointed, as there is no legal obligation to do so. For any privacy matter, use the e-mail above.

2. What data is processed, why, and on what basis

a) Contact form & e-mail enquiries

The contact form does not send anything to a server. When you submit it, your own e-mail application opens with a pre-filled message that you send to me. I then receive the data you chose to include — typically your name, e-mail address, company (optional) and the content of your message — in my mailbox.

  • Purpose: to read and respond to your enquiry and to take any steps you request prior to a possible contract.
  • Legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and my legitimate interest in answering messages sent to me (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Retention: for the duration of our communication and any resulting engagement; correspondence with no follow-up is deleted at the latest within 24 months.

b) Analytics (only with your consent)

With your consent I use Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool. It measures aggregate traffic (e.g. page views, referrers, approximate country, device type) without storing cookies, without a persistent identifier, and without building a cross-site profile of you. Analytics scripts load only after you click “Accept” in the cookie banner.

  • Purpose: to understand in aggregate how the site is used and improve it.
  • Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer.
  • Retention: aggregated statistics only; no data that identifies you personally is retained.

c) Hosting & server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. Like any web server, the hosting infrastructure processes technical access data (such as IP address, date and time of the request, requested URL and browser type) to deliver the site and keep it secure.

  • Purpose: operating, securing and troubleshooting the website.
  • Legal basis: legitimate interest in a secure, functioning website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

d) Local storage on your device

The site stores a couple of small values in your browser’s local storage — your language choice and your cookie/analytics preference. These are strictly necessary for the site to remember your settings, stay on your device, and are not used to track you.

3. Recipients & international transfers

Your data is not sold or shared for marketing. It may be processed by my hosting/analytics provider acting as a processor:

  • Vercel Inc. — website hosting and (with consent) analytics.
  • My e-mail provider (Google – Gmail), where enquiry messages are received and stored.

These providers may process data outside the EU (e.g. in the USA). Where that happens, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards under the GDPR, such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

4. Cookies

This website does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. It uses only strictly necessary local storage (language and consent preference) and, after your consent, cookieless analytics. You can review or change your choice at any time through the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access your personal data and obtain a copy;
  • have inaccurate data rectified;
  • have your data erased (“right to be forgotten”);
  • restrict processing;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest;
  • data portability;
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.

6. Right to lodge a complaint

If you believe your data is processed unlawfully, you may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority:

7. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the site or the law. The current version, with its “last updated” date, always applies.
